    I’ve long been eager to try studio photography but haven’t had the means until recently. These are from my very first controlled-lighting shoot. The model is Meghan, makeup is by my cousin Kristen, and my equipment and supplementary lighting engineer was Heather.

  • Sigma Love

    I’ve been putzing around with my Sigma 105mm f/2.8 macro lately. The lens is no longer being made, but is widely regarded as performing better than Canon’s basic lenses (not quite to L standards, though), and is a bargain and a half if you can find one. The AF motor is loud and slow, but the image quality is tops.

  • Really Old Stuff

    It’s been so long since I’ve been able to get anything online! My esteemed colleague, Heather, has been keeping the site afloat with her much more frequent postings and for that I must give her a tip of my hat.

    Here are some neat photos I took while I was bored one afternoon with my little PowerShot SD110. I was throwing it up in the air with a one-second shutter speed just to see what would happen.

  • Fast Days, Late Nights

    Posts have been sparse here these days, and for that I apologize. I have taken up a new hobby: amateur radio. I just passed my exam this week and got my license. If any of you out there are hams, keep your ears open for KB1MZQ!
