So it’s 2006 already. In a way it seems as though 2005 went by very
quickly. At the same time, so much happened. I got carried away and
forgot to post!
Here are just a couple of things. First, a picture I took for a friend
of mine as a Christmas present for a different friend. I did a
tremendous amount of Photoshop post-processing work on this. He loved
it.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted. I apologize to you all. While
enjoying an evening of Jackie Chan’s Drunken Master (1978), I was able
to snap a couple of photos before my equally drunken yet
kung-fu-challenged friends started acting up.
I made a conscious decision to spare no Photoshop trickery in the quest
for the most arresting image. This decision is a direct result of
viewing Andrzej Dragan’s gallery of light painting
portraits, achieved through a careful
attention to light and exposure during shooting followed by the most
impressive display of Rembrandt-esque manipulation I’ve seen.
Here is one I snapped a couple of days ago but didn’t get a chance to
post. I froze my fingers off taking it, but this smoke stack is, for
some reason, really cool to me.
This is the snowstorm that allowed me to stay home from work today.
I got sick over my Thanksgiving break, which is a great reminder that
even national holidays are not recognized by most viruses. In fact—and I
have this on good authority—most viruses don’t even speak English.
It’s been hard for me to come up with any new work, as I’ve been putting
a lot of time into the
boxdoodles initiative. I hope
everyone here can get something out of that.
